TenSisters EasyPiecing grid is a lightweight fusible interfacing printed with a grid pattern that simplifies the process of piecing quilt blocks, especially those with many small squares.It acts as a foundation, guiding the placement and sewing of fabric pieces. By adhering fabric squares to the grid and sewing along the printed lines, quilters can achieve accurate and consistent piecing without needing to rely solely on precise cutting or pinning.
Here’s how it works:Preparation:The grid is a fusible interfacing, meaning it has a heat-activated adhesive on one side.You’ll iron the grid onto your fabric, ensuring the bumpy, fusible side is facing down.
Fabric Placement:The grid is printed with a pattern of squares, usually with numbers or letters to guide the placement of fabric pieces. You’ll cut fabric squares, usually a half-inch larger than the finished size, and adhere them to the corresponding squares on the grid using a glue stick or similar adhesive.
Sewing:Once the fabric squares are in place, you’ll fold the grid along the printed lines and sew a 1/4 inch seam, catching both the fabric and the interfacing.
Finishing:After sewing, you’ll carefully cut along the printed lines to create your pieced unit
